Hi,

Could you please enhance Mediaelch with the possibility to also download subtitles in various languages?

Thanks in advance.

I don't know any source for subtitles. Are there any providing an API?

Thanks for looking into this request. Unfortunately, I don't know if there are sources providing an API. Some days ago, I found the application named filebot, that seems to offer such a feature:
http://filebot.sourceforge.net/

Thus, I thought that it would be great if the downloading of subtitles was also available in Mediaelch.

In any case, many thanks for creating and continuing to enhance this great application.

opensubtitles.org provides an API for it's subtitles: http://trac.opensubtitles.org/projects/opensubtitles

Also, the XBMC Subtitle add-on currently downloads subtitle data from 20 different sources. Here is the code they use for each of the sources.
http://xbmc.git.sourceforge.net/git/gitweb.cgi?p=xbmc/scripts;a=tree;f=script.xbmc.subtitles/resources/lib/services

Thanks matt-h for helping with this feature.

Hello,
I'm not sure why this is closed ? the goal is not to rename subtitles as this does already work, but to connect to API to download subtitles, based on imdb id or tmdb id.

Would it be possible to have such great feature ?

All issues were closed prior to re-activating the issue feature on GitHub. Reopened this issue :-)

Adding to issue #309, my subtiles are in a "Subs" directory for .idx and .sub files as those would bloat the season directory.
All nfo and mkv were moved and renamed but not the "subs" directory, I have to manually rename all 44 files :)

Would it be possible to scan/move/rename those files as well? Or how would you manage those? (Maybe I'm -holding- managing it wrong?)

Giving MediaElch a try because the media manager I had been using has become unusable. The lack of subtitles management is the biggest gap in functionality by far, with MediaElch not even able to recognize and rename existing subtitles when importing, scraping, and renaming my existing videos.
