Since Mastodon's protocol handlers have been removed in https://github.com/tootsuite/mastodon/pull/8127, it would be helpful to have a way to have the possibility back of sharing content from outside of Mastodon.
It could be done like the remote interactions work (https://github.com/tootsuite/mastodon/pull/8202), the instance linked in the first place redirecting to the correct instance by asking the user's AP ID.

This is still possible, with this link:
https://instance.tld/share?text=Some%20text&url=https://url.you.like.to.share
The only thing that needs to be done from the non-Mastodon side is a way for a user to enter their instance.tld.
