Marlin: Please, help me to upgrade Marlin Firmware from 1.1.x to 1.8.1

Dear MarlinFirmware professional Engineers,

How are you!
I am Clara.
I am very happy to know this place!

I have been used 3D printer since I bought it in January 2018.
It is really fun and interesting both designing and printing.

As time goes by, there is to be confidence that I need to use this more fun.

So, I made up my mind to upgrade Marlin Frimware for the
That is RGB LED Strip project.

And now I am using RGB Neopixel ring light powered by external USB power but I would like to connect with Ramps AUX pins instead of it :)))))

But, it is required higher Marlin version like 1.1.6 essentially.
As you would be realized that I am a beginner and it is really hard work for me to do it by myself without any hlep.

I NEED YOU GUYS' HELP!

On the other hand, I thought that I can use my printer pretty well without any upgrade.

But, I do like to do THIS.

Until now, the only thing that I already checked and tried thing is that I must be be careful about Z motors' directions in my 3D printer.

And now I am trying to edit Configuration.h and Configuration_adv.h but I have NO IDEA yet.

Can you check my files, please?

Steps to Reproduce

1. [First Step]
   I will compare the file Configuration.h and Configuration_adv.h in my Marlin 1.1.0 with 1.1.6 version with special program like "Meld".

2. [Second Step]
   Hopefully, I need experts' help and advice.

3. [and so on...]
   Actually, I heard that many cases of failures and results.
   I felt nervous but I need new Marlin Firmware to use RGB LED options!!!

Please, help me and give me your advice with your great experiences!

Install NotePad++ and turn on the differential compare add on.
Go through the differences between your 1.1.x setup to 1.1.8. You just move over the settings.

You do need to go through each difference and make decisions. Some stuff has changed names.

You might also want to check out marlin-config and just start fresh with a new blank config file while inputting the changes from your original file configuration.h and such.
