Please can you update Mactype, its so essential for many of us users and we love using it. It is really in need of a good 2016 update. I'm sure many of us would be happy to donate.
I wanna know what is the most important feature you want (except Directwrite support which is hard to implement currently), and I'm glad to see if I can fulfill your requirement.
Speaking of updated versions... I would also like to see this. Has this been tested with WIndows 10?
I am on Windows 10 and it works, but there are issues I think. Also a friend of mine with the windows 10 november update (which I don't have because Microsoft never gave it to me...) said it didn't work for him. It also seems to glitch out with Cmder unfortunately, some of the letters will appear incorrect sometimes and you have to restart Cmder 2-3 times to get it to work and even then, sometimes there will be letters that are thinner for some reasons.
I am on Windows 10 latest, it works for fine for me, except few issues in
for few letters.

Bad news. Google is planning to get rid of GDI font rendering (i.e. DirectWrite cannot be turned off anymore) for their next major Chrome version. This is already in effect in the latest Dev and Canary builds.
I'm just noticing its not working as well as it used to for me on windows 7. 3rd party programs also its a bit hit and miss now. And am still unsure how to make sure it works in Opera and Chrome.
I just thought a good 2016 update would be good to see.
@JonnyRedHed Provided you're on the Stable channel, add the --disable-direct-write and --disable-directwrite-for-ui parameters to your Chrome (or anything Chromium-based, e.g. Spotify) shortcut.
Then head to about:flags and make sure #enable-zero-copy is enabled and #num-raster-threads is set to 1.
I'm using opera, there is no about:flags as far as I know. I get not great results in opera (latest).
When I asked for an update to mactype, I just assumed that since its not been updated in a while, that there would be a good list of bug fixes and new features the dev would like to add along with user suggestions. I'm just an end user and thought it would be good to a have a fresh 2016 update thats all.
@snowie2000 A fix patch link here makes MacType are able to render font on Direct Write mode in many application. I think you could exchange ideas with that guy to develop a better MacType. Good luck!
https://github.com/silight-jp/MacType-Patch/blob/master/license.txt says the "This software is Copyright by silight.".
https://github.com/snowie2000/mactype/issues/141 once said the project's license is GPLv3, but this is not written in project files.
Unfortunately, this patch doesn't work with Opera 39 Stable. I even tried to start browser from clear installation in the new folder. But I constantly (after implementing new DLLs) get error message, so Opera can't load completely, window or tabs aren't displayed:

After closing Mactype, all Opera launchers (from main or temporary folders) work fine. No troubles, no error messages.
Maybe @silight-jp or someone else could tell me which flags needs to be disabled? For me it's quite hard to find source. 🆘
UPD. Last Vivaldi 1.3 Snapshot brings the same error message. ☹☹☹☹ Perhaps, the source is in Chromium core.
Hello, I installed the Windows 10 update to version 1067 and MacType seems not to work at all anymore with this version. I tried to reinstall it, and after enabling it the desktop and task bar icons constantly disappear and reappear
@not-a-lot Boot into safe mode and replace your EasyHK32.dll and EasyHK64.dll files with the ones from this patch.
It's not working on Windows 10 1067 version. I tried 1.12 version which is the latest.
@wspl Is working now on Windows 10 1607 (OS Build 14393.10) using the lastest version
I don't know what's happening then. I installed mactype, replaced the dll's and copied them too to the correct Windows folders, launch wizard and select install as service and reboot.
Doing that it's not working :/
@wspl I don't know if is because I'm using as Registry and just add the exception via the ini, but for me Work fine
I tried again following the same steps but with registry installation and it's working now, even Firefox works!
I tried via Registry and my Windows 10 crashes every time I boot!!! Any
solutions to this please?

@PrajwalSD are you sure you're following all the steps? Replacing dll's, copying them on Windows folder and and installing it as a registry?
Doing that works fine.
@wasd-- No problem If you you have problem with Chrome (last version remove the flags option to disable DirectWrite) download the version 51 from another site, the offline installer and done
Can I ask about the next update, when it will arrive. Win7x64
