Commafeed: Cannot find bin/catalina.sh

Following the installation procedure, ran into the following error:

ohn@telly:/opt/commafeed$ sudo sh bin/startup.sh
Cannot find bin/catalina.sh
The file is absent or does not have execute permission
This file is needed to run this program

In the readme:
you may need to chmod +x bin/*.sh
