Hi everyone. I use LMMS 0.4.13 and 0.9.91 in Windows 7 starter and there is a problem when I export a song to wav or ogg.
I have a song composed entirely of SF2 tracks with some effects added (mainly reverbs). When I play it in LMMS everything goes fine, but as I export the song, the resulting file is incomplete. Say, for example, my song is 4: 00 minutes long, and the exported file only reaches 3: 30; I repeat the exporting process and then it gets to 3: 10; and every time I do it again, it changes the length of the audio but never reaches the true length of the song.
This has happened me with all my songs.
Thanks.
Does this happen with both versions? What export settings are you using?
Hi. This happens with both versions. My export settings are these (when exporting to wav and to ogg)

Have you tried with the latest stable 0.4.15 version?

Yes. It happened also with 0.4.15.
Maybe your disk is full and you got no more space for new songs?

I don't think that's it. An empty wave file takes the same amount of
disk space as a wave file full of music.
There were similar issues with export earlier, but they were fixed. It's
weird that they're now showing up in this very specific way.
OP, can you try something for me: try rendering in 32-bit wav files and
see if that changes anything?
Hi!
I tried with "Depth: 32 Bit float" but the problem continues. One thing I forgot to mention before: When it's in the exporting process there is a little sound like a clip or a peak and then the process stops incomplete (last time stopped at 57%.)
I've tried exporting each track separately but it doesn't work.

Ok can you try this next. Go to the settings, in the audio interface
settings select "dummy (no sound output)", then restart LMMS and try to
export again. See if this has any effect.
Well, that didn't work; this time stopped at 35%. Indeed, I changed to dummy and clicked OK, then restarted LMMS. But as I checked the settings again, dummy wasn't selected, but SDL.

Well there seems to be something seriously wonky here. Seems to me like
maybe your LMMS installation is broken in some weird way...
Can you try this: remove all installations of LMMS on your computer. Run
CCleaner just to be sure.
Then install the latest available LMMS, RC2, from here
https://sourceforge.net/projects/lmms/files/lmms/0.9.91/
Then try exporting again.
Hi. Thanks for all your help.
I uninstalled LMMS and deleted all the folders and files, and used CCleaner too. Then I installed it again and retried the export but it's still happening: there is a clip and then the export stops incomplete.
I have noticed that LMMS 0.4.15 crashed because of some spesific Vibed sounds at times. The preset caused my Ram to run high and at the same time clip and then LMMS crashed.
Also you could check if you have automated tempochanges in your song.
OK, not sure if this is the same problem, but my song was not exporting either. I went into the song editor, and pulled the entire track out to the full length, bc it was only playing :29 instead of the entire 1:45. Now it is exporting the entire song with no trouble.
This was fixed by #1476, should be closed.
Hello, I'm having exactly this problem. I'm running the latest version of LMMS in Win 7 Home and it doesn't export the whole song, at least as wav. So I think the error is still not fixed.
Hi, Victor. I don't know if this adds to the discussion, but I changed to a PC with more Ram memory and installed the latest version of LMMS and the problem is gone. Might be a problem with your hardware? I had a dual core with 2gb RAM and now a core i3 4gb RAM.
I'm precisely running LMMS on a i3 with 4GB RAM, so I guess is not a hardware problem.
This bug is fixed in the master branch, and will be included in 1.2. The current stable release, 1.1.3, has the bug.

Surely not a hardware problem . Am on version 1.1.3 and enough RAM , this issue / bug appears intermittently . The project export to .wav file - suddenly aborts with a clipping sound . The project is exported only 45% of its original length.
Hi Rohit,
Have you tried to see if 1.2 fixes this issue for you as that is the latest released version.

Can you give me a better idea what os you are trying to compile on?

Hi @RohitDhankar, LMMS 1.2.1 is the latest stable release. If your distro doesn't have an updated version in their package repo, you can find an appimage here: http://lmms.io/download#linux
