Thanks for the superb and free product, of course. After using other platforms then coming to find your site, I feel as though I'm your child, and you're spoiling me over and over with all your free features.
Just one thing... I like to use the 3D pieces. Gives me a vibe akin to an OTB chess, resulting in me taking my online games more seriously and playing much, much better. But due to the combination of light angle, color and the shape of the pieces, I always have to spend a tiny part of my awareness into double checking if the piece I'm looking at is either a pawn, or a bishop. And in faster time controls, it has been the cause for more than a handful blunders. I know there are different designs. Though to be honest, half of them are a bit funky.
This is a humble request for more easily distinguishable pieces. In case you decide this is something you guys would like to add, I'll be the one to prepare a couple of different designs that you can look at. And prepare them in the appropriate format that makes it the easiest for you to implement.
Is this the case with all of the 3D pieces?
Hi son ;)
I'll be very happy to look at your designs. Here's the format we need: https://github.com/ornicar/lila/blob/master/public/images/staunton/piece/Wood/White-Bishop.png
All pieces are there https://github.com/ornicar/lila/tree/master/public/images/staunton/piece
The very first two designs.
Ah, it's just a simple png. I'll post my ideas here in the coming days.
PNGs are just an export of 3D models, which you'll find on https://github.com/clarkerubber/Staunton-Pieces
