1.4.2
I tried to use my new Ledger Nano for the first time. Initialized it, downloaded latest version of Ledger Live and tried to add my Nano upon clicking on Get Started in the Ledger Live GUI
When clicking on 3. Is your Ledger device genuine it hangs forever both on Ubuntu 18.04 and Windows 10 at the step "Navigate to the dashboard on your device" (and yes, my device is connected and I entered the PIN correctly)
However, when I first tried it on Ubuntu 18.04 this step immediately gave me a connection error and showed me a "try again" button.
I then followed the steps described on https://support.ledgerwallet.com/hc/en-us/articles/115005165269-Fix-connection-issues for Linux systems.
After that, the step "Navigate to the dashboard on your device" checked off once but the subsequent step "Allow Ledger Manager on your device" failed.
Upon trying it once more the above described behavior started, i.e. the step "Navigate to the dashboard on your device" just running forever.
After that I tried it on my Windows 10 laptop where it showed exactly the same behavior.
Also, when I use the Ledger Wallet Bitcoin Chrome extension it fails to recognize that I have any Ledger device connected to my Laptop.
Note, that I use the original USB cable that came with my brand new Ledger Nano.
After restarting my Laptop another 3 times it works now on Windows 10. Still, you might want to consider improving the user experience here
I am having this same issue on Ubuntu. Restarting a thousand times did not help.
I'd say this is still open until it's fixed on Ubuntu
If anyone on ubuntu is having this issue still, running the appimage as sudo allows you to get past this step.
I still have Ubuntu issue. It worked after a Sudo su, Chmod +x [ledgerlive] one time but has stopped working the second time.
There is a bug and needs to be resolved for Ledger Nano S in ubuntu desktops.
