Please implement message signing with a bitcoin address in the new app. This feature was available in the old chrome app.
Thanks!
I support this although I feel like with segwit transaction becoming more and more current, there need to be a standardized discussion on how to handle P2SH outputs.
@tookdrums Separate issue.
I support this feature request.
This feature is quite useful, if possible, please add it to the ledger live software.
I support this request
Would also love to see this! Currently having to use other apps to achieve this (and is a regression from old Chrome App functionality)
Here's another vote for getting this feature added to Ledger Live. I used the signature feature in the Chrome apps to prove ownership of an address for audit purposes. That would be much, _much_ more difficult to do now that the feature is removed from Ledger Live.
Please consider this as auditors prefer wallet signing to prove ownership of addresses. We like our current Ledger set up but will migrate to another solution if this feature is discontinued
If this is implemented please comply with BIP 137: https://github.com/bitcoin/bips/blob/master/bip-0137.mediawiki
Is there any update on this?
I actually just received a Ledge Nano X at home and wasn't aware that this is not possible. It's a big issue for proving ownership of assets.
Wholeheartedly agree that this is a must-have for Ledger Live.
need this feature for all coins not just bitcoin address. should be simple feature to add since code is already in place to sign transactions just need to add gui and encode to base64 for human readable signature.
This is a must-have feature, please implement this ASAP! I'm tempted to move away from Ledger soon if it is not implemented by the end of this year.
Add this LEDGER.
After latest Nano S updates you shrinked space and made installing PGP app very hard.
Can you please implement message signing asap?
We're definitely considering the feature. no ETA yet however.
Lead developer of the MWC airdrop here. Just to give you some input from
the field, a number of ledger users want this feature and the number one
support request we got is: how do I sign to prove funds with a ledger? We
actually had to make a video showing how to sign on a ledger using
electrum. I hope this is something that can be prioritized. For reference,
the BIP that would be ideal for ledger to support is BIP 137:
