The thing with that XDA version is that is modifies the smali of the Pixel 2 Launcher apk, and my project builds the Pixel 2 features on top of AOSP Java sources. Completely different projects, and I'm not sure I like the smali editing approach because it's extremely difficult to trace problems or add features if they inevitably show up. Not saying the approach is bad, but it's like the Google Camera edits, it's not very flexible. Right now I don't have the time to decompile all the sources and take a look at them sadly.

YES YES YES

this is basically a duplicate of #259. i guess we should close this one and keep the discussion in the original issue.

Yes awesome

New Pixel 2 launcher doesn't seem to adjust layout grid according to DPI on my phone, Z5 Compact. It gives me 5 column grid which looks super bad and weird in app drawer.

@mlleemiles Yes indid, it needs specific screen dpi to work correct, but its ok, we can live with that

@mlleemiles But does it have swipe to Google Now?

No it does not have swipe to Google Now on the way to do that is Root your phone and set the app as system app and have to give it permission that it requires

@nikkomercado The modded version on XDA is rootless, working as intented as official release on my device.

How come the G is white and the search bar is like a blur gray some of the images I looked up on Google Search bars White and the G is colorful or is that only exclusive to the pixel 2 phones only

Some screens from my device:

The app drawer margin doesn't feel right. And G pill only presents color when using Pixel 2 live wallpapers. I'll stick to Launcher3 at current state!

For me G logo on bottom search bar is always white even when i use the new lwp from google (modded version from xda). Maybe it has to do with os version? mine is 7.0 on XA Ultra

Mine just shows a black screen. Tons of people have been experiencing this too.

Maybe been installed as normal app, not system, mesh up with some functionality

UPDATE: The dude released a new version of the Pixel 2 Launcher (v 1.2) with added Nougat 7.0 support, and now I don't experience the black screen issue anymore. All what's left for God Amir to do is:
-Fix the Moto app grid issue
-Add the circle icons
-Fix a couple more bugs and glitches that I've been experiencing like notification badges don't appear etc.

@mlleemiles Can you pass the link of this version in XDA without root?

@elsondione it's in the second reply.

@AxiK101 To be exact, for colored G bar, you have to use coastal line live wallpapers.

the developer is a bit busy with school, he will do it as fast as he can I guess, but school goes first I guess

Kudos to the great work! Amir always deliveres the best!

@mlleemiles yeah you are right but it's a bit strange not to work with the rest lwps

Amir knows what's right

let's close this issue, because amir knows that everyone wants the pixel two launcher

Or let's leave it (& only it — closing & locking all duplicates!), so @amirzaidi can post any updates/progress he has.
