The purpose of this launcher is to be as similar to the stock Pixel launcher as possible. Since the stock Pixel launcher doesn't have this feature, I doubt amir would add this feature. However, I found this app on the Play Store that might be your solution.

Default launcher3 at aosip can do that, and custom icon too, i think it is good to integrated here IMO

If you can post a reference to the code needed, this feature might be included in future versions.

Default launcher 3 doesn't support that. That's probably am edited version like this one. And double tap to sleep will disable fingerprint sensor. And next time try to fill in the template

@abdullahibneat you can see at AOSiP source.
@rickkode launcher3 that include in AOSiP support tap to sleep with fingerprint, im using now.

That is because it is a system app. It uses the power management feature,
which is not allowed on this launcher. I already tried it, and that
function has been deprecated.

Haven't tried as that is not the case here. Best case would be with root. Still trying all methods.

Oh maybe because my device is root?

The aosip launcher is a edited version of launcher 3. Just like this one

Like I suggested before, try one of those apps on the Play store. That is the easiest and quickest way to get round this issue.

If you're happy you may close this issue.

Okay, im back to default AOSiP launcher3, thanks for reply. I love this launcher, simplicity!
IMO, tap to sleep and iconpack support is killer feature for launcher :)

As far as I know this requires root/system app installation, or it will lock the fingerprint scanner. Neither of which is a good idea for "Rootless Pixel Launcher"

@amirzaidi but nova and other third party launchers support double tap to lock, just give admin previlages to your launcher and this will work

This goes against the purpose of this launcher, it's called"Rootless" for a reason.

@abdullahibneat but no root required, not even it has to be installed as system app. Many apps request admin rights for specific function, that doesn't make them system

You mean the superuser access prompt? That is a root feature (you don't get that unless you have root). Still, it's be a contradictory feature for a rootless app. You may add this feature by adding the required code yourself or ask a developer to do that for you since the source code is publicly available.

ni superuser access. look the pic, it's a stock privilege:

Yes, this can be done with device admin, but only if the user does not care about fingerprint. When using device admin, fingerprint gets ignored, and the user is required to enter pin code or password everytime he unlocks.
