You could try the cocoapods-1.4.0 branch for now. We still have to confirm something before it could be merged to master and releasing.

Adding static framework option to podspec file will make other dependencies of Kingfisher unavailable, unless they all change their podspec. And it seems that CocoaPods 1.5.0 supports to build static library even without that flag, I think there is no need anymore for Kingfisher to do anything on this topic.
