Kibana: Option to display document count on pie chart labels instead of percentages

Created on 28 Mar 2019  路  3Comments  路  Source: elastic/kibana

As of right now pie charts offer a great way to compare relative values at a glance. However, the labels for pie chart parts also display a percentage, which can be a bit redundant. In some cases it would be beneficial to display the document count, to offer a more complete picture at a glance.

We're currently making some visualizations to keep track of the amount of assests supported by our team. Assets get split up based on (for example) domain and a pie chart is a great way to visualize the relative amount of assets in each supported domain. However, the absolute, raw document count is perhaps even more valuable while these values can only be seen when hovering over pie chart areas.

Edit: it looks like it does display in some cases, I'm uncertain why this is

@elastic/kibana-app Any news on this yet? The percentages can be completely useless in many cases (example: Top 5 significant terms, there are 95 other non-significant terms so the percentage isn't even a percentage overall it's just a percentage of the top 5...)
