As of earlier this year it's possibly to add emoji to logs via the logstash emoji plugin. However, it seems that filtering on emoji via the available fields list or searching for them directly does not work (As of Kibana 5.6.3).
To reproduce, install the emoji filter and push some logs into ELK. Then pull up some logs and click an emoji in the field list or type the emoji in the text search box. No results will be displayed.
