Kibana: Region map vector map list empty in v5.5.2

Description of the problem including expected versus actual behavior: During creation of a region map I am unable to select a vector map from the options drop down. I've tried with the default kibana.yml (to see default selections) and with my own additions for the regionmap.layers (to see my selections) with no success.

Steps to reproduce:

1. Create region map visualization on an index
2. Select options tab
3. Try to select a Vector map from the drop down

Errors in browser console (if relevant): None

Provide logs and/or server output (if relevant): None

Is this version number correct? the region map is only available starting from 5.5.

My mistake. Updated with the correct version number 5.5.2.

Do you have an internet connection?

Can you check if you see any error-messages in the browser console?

Yes I have an internet connection. No messages were output to the browser console.

I had this problem, too, even after reinstall. Downgrading to Kibana 5.5.1 fixed the issue.

Same here, Vector map list is empty with 5.5.2, found this ticket and gave it a try downgrading to 5.5.1, which fixed the issue.

I have the same issue with kibana 5.5.2 , Vector map list empty and seams to be select by default the usa states, is any other workaround for this situation, because I'm using it in production so i don't want to downgrade kibana to a version mismatching elasticsearch version.

Fresh install of Kibana 5.5.2 on CentOS 7 and I also have this issue. Create new visualization, region map, defaults to US States Vector Map. When I go to options and drop down for Vector map, the list is empty.

Same problem here with Chrome and Firefox (installed from the DEB package) in 5.5.2. Can also reproduce on Elastic Cloud.

Both 5.5.1 and 6.0.0-beta2 work fine.

Fresh install of Kibana 5.5.2 on suse 11 and I also have this issue. Create new visualization, region map, defaults to US States Vector Map. When I go to options and drop down for Vector map, the list is empty.

I am running 5.6.0 and the vector map dropdown is empty for me too. By default, the U.S. states are used. Internet connection is available.

Am I supposed to enable the vector map options somewhere?

Yes, I also get this problem with kibana-5.5.3, empty vector map list.
