Kibana: Show y-axis values within chart

Created on 24 May 2017  路  38Comments  路  Source: elastic/kibana

I am looking for a new feature to add the labels on top of the visuals which is currently not available in any of the Kibana version. I agree that you can see the labels at the side bar but I think it is more flexible for the user to add labels on top of the graph if needed.

@sharma-shilpy Can you clarify what you mean by "labels"? You can place legends on top, left, right, or bottom.

I know we can place the legend anywhere but I am looking for something like this.

@ShilpyS23 Thanks for clarifying

Any progress on this? This forum thread said it would be in kiabna 6.1

Kibana version is 7.4 or higher
In the Metric&Axes tab you should change your chart type to bar chart, then navigate to panel settings tab you'll see the show values on chart button, turn on to see the values display in (on) bar
That's all I know

@natilux2 you re a life-saver, big thanks ;-)))))))

@natilux2 I did exactly you mention and nothing is there as you can see.

Is this applicable for Line Chart ?

It only works on Bar Chart, for both Area and Line charts there is no such option. You may use vega vis charts to archive that.

@timroes I believe it can be closed, however I didn't find the issue it was resolved.

Thanks.

Thanks for the hint.

This has been resolved via https://github.com/elastic/kibana/pull/36511 and been released in 7.3.
