I had just updated to Catalina yesterday and started seeing the same behavior as @zrml. That is #4398 but yes it is fixed in 2.5.3-2.

Are you storing your database in OneDrive or similar cloud storage?

It is on Dropbox where it has been for the last two years but only recently it started to crash since I upgraded to the 2.5 update

This is a duplicate of #3857

This was not an issue before version 2.5, so what has changed that now all of a sudden it crashes? Defeats the point for me to move of cloud as access it on other devices and share with colleagues.

Qt is now 5.13 instead of 5.12. This is an unforeseen bug with a framework we have no control over.

I doubt that it is a direct duplicate. This one here states that it crashes randomly. I can confirm that it crashes from time to time even when KeePassXC is running in the background.

I see this very frequently on v2.5.1. Unlike #3857, I never see a crash when manually saving the database. It's not exactly "random" either though; it crashes pretty consistently for me when my device goes to sleep/ screen locks. Possibly because it is auto-saving in the background.

SInce the upgrade to Catalina at the weekend it's fully reproduceable, it happens every single time. I have the local Mac drive (SSD) which is fully encrypted.
Any news?

OK, I've downloaded the latest, v2.5.3-2 and all is well. Thank you!
