Karabiner-elements: No devices in device tab

This is on a MacBook Pro (1(inch, 2017) on macOS Hight Sierra 10.13.6 so using a pc keyboard.
As a result I can't add any simple modifications etc. Or am I doing something wrong?

I just tried with the beta version of Karabinier 12.1.5... I have the same problem :(
