Js-buy-sdk: Abandoned Cart for Custom Store Fronts

What is a good way to implement abandoned carts when developing Custom Store Fronts? I am still not able to clearly figure out how to implement this when using this SDK. Appreciate if someone experienced could advice on this.

I noticed Abandoned Carts started working on Jan 1 2020, so I assume @abishekrsrikaanth's nudge helped.

@arobbins I'm using the Buy Button sales channel, so it just automatically started working after Shopify enabled it.

Abandoned checkout recovery is available only for the Online Store sales channel and the Buy Button sales channel. Abandoned checkouts on Shopify POS or third party sales channels will not receive a checkout recovery email.

@sleggat. don't think it is the same case with this library. Not sure if the buy-sdk and the Buy Button share the same underlying components to implement this. Look forward to comments from @rebeccajfriedman

I've also just ran into this issue. My custom storefront is built using the buy-sdk and Gatsby, and I'm hoping there's been an update on this being implemented, or some kind of workaround I can use for the time being?

Also, does anyone know if this is specific to the Buy SDK — would this work with checkouts created directly via the Storefront API?

I also have a custom storefront and would like to send abandoned checkout emails automatically.
