Jest-puppeteer: Is this project still maintained?

Created on 21 Jul 2020  Â·  14Comments  Â·  Source: smooth-code/jest-puppeteer

Sorry if this is not a real issue, but I just wonder if this project is still being maintained and we should continue to rely on it. The last release was 8 months ago. It is neither keeping up with latest Pupeteer releases nor even accepting a handful easy to merge PRs.

I have been just given permission to continue maintaining this repo. Thanks @gregberge!

I have merged #392 to update all dependencies and will be going through the current issues and PRs soon.

Good question, maybe the project could use more maintainers? Otherwise we'll be forced to make fixes and improvements under a new fork.

??

Any information on this @gregberge? Maybe there is somebody else willing to help with this?

I think especially the updated peerDependency for puppeteer would be important. https://github.com/smooth-code/jest-puppeteer/pull/348

I don't think it is, I'm going to be redoing my puppeteer setup to move
away from this cause I keep getting timeout errors since upgrading other
packages

I'm also curious if this project is being maintained, currently looking at
available tooling and don't want to burden my team with jumping into
outdated tooling.

What are the alternatives? I'm also getting inconsistent timeout errors.

this doesn't list jest-puppeteer as needed,

Hello, I currently don't have time to maintain this package. The reason is simple, I do not use it at work and I am not paid to maintain it.

If someone is interested to make it great again, then ping me on Twitter or send me an email please. Thanks and sorry!

Out of interest @gregberge what do you use at work instead :)

I am planning to move to Cypress

@JoshuaVSherman thanks for link https://dev.to/jankaritech/testing-with-jest-and-puppeteer-56k !

i tried to remove this package. It took 20 minutes. I probably didn't depend much on this package. He was just adding a little magic.

Excellent I will do that as well!

Hi, guys! I'm not sure if it is actual, but I can help you with maintaining. Although I also don’t have much time, but I was inspired with jest-puppeteer when I started developing jest-playwright and I just want to help if it's possible

Out of interest @gregberge what do you use at work instead :)

I am using Cypress actually.
