ios 13 files app with 2.23.8 (9) files not accessible

Expected behaviour

new/not previously accessed nextcloud files to be accessible first time through the iOS files application

Actual behaviour

only files that have been viewed in the nextcloud iOS app are accessible. if you have not downloaded a file first it is visible but nothing happens when you click on it. there is no preview thumbnail of the item either.

Steps to reproduce

try to view a file in iOS Files that you have not accessed previously in the iOS nextcloud app. nothing happens. go into the iOS nextcloud app and click on a file to download it and see the content. go back into the iOS files app and the file is visible, has a thumbnail picture and works as expected

iOS 13 beta 3

App version

2.23.8 (9)

Server configuration

Operating system:
Ubuntu 18.04

Web server:
Apache/2.4.29 (Ubuntu)

Database:
MySQL 5.7.26-0ubuntu0.18.04.1-log (Ubuntu)

PHP version:
PHP 7.2.17-0ubuntu0.18.04.1

Nextcloud version: (see Nextcloud admin page)
Nextcloud 16.0.1

i know it's very early days, but this was the first issue i found. i'm super excited to see nextcloud integration into iOS 13 files app. keep up the excellent work on this :-)

@wizdude Thanks, this is normal because is changed the system of File Provider, now use the domain (for the different account). Thanks for you report !!

Are you saying that it is not possible to make the Files app fetch the file/an updated version of the file without opening the Nextcloud app?
I have the same issue with Keepassium which accesses the database directly through the Files app and it doesn't get an updated version of the db if it changed.

Changes made within Keepassium are pushed to server instantly without Nextcloud being open.

Hello,

I have the same issue with multiple apps. It is not possible to open files directly witch the file picker app in word, Marvin or any other map without downloading it first with the nexcloud app.
Please fix it.

I also have the same issue. I hope this can be fixed as this makes the Files Integration pretty useless.

I am also experiencing this same issue. It was working (with occasional "try again" messages) on my iPad running iOS 13, then all of a sudden it just stopped working. Never been working on my iPhone since iOS 13.

Running latest iOS and Nexcloud app, with 17.0 server.

Same issue here. No communication possible within the IpadOS‘s Files app. I can only access the files properly in the Nextcloud app.

I’ve just installed TestFlight 2.25.6(6) which I have running against Nextcloud 17 and it’s now working perfectly. Files download in the files app when they are not already on the device. Beautiful!

Perhaps others can also test and report back. If it’s not working perhaps also mention the version of Nextcloud you are running.
