Ios: iOS App freezes on open / resume for 30s

Expected behaviour

The iOS app doesn’t freeze

Actual behavior

The app freezes when opening or resuming (in any view). It usually freezes for around 30s. I’ve tried regenerating all previews and I have a cronjob to update them. I don’t have that many photos, even. The server log shows absolutely nothing, even with loglevel set to 0. (I also verified the log was actually working by navigating around directories in the app). I’ve also tried reinstalling the app. The web interface is very snappy and thumbnails appear instantly.

Steps to reproduce

• Turn on Photo sync
• Open app / resume from task switcher

Hi @aaron-sonin verify that your IP isn't in the brute for protection list.

@marinofaggiana It's not, and I even tried whitelisting its IP. I also cleared the bruteforce table just in case and it didn't change anything.

30 sec. it's a timeout ... some sync API return an timeout error, verify the error on server side can be help, otherwise can you create an account test for me with this issue ?

Hi! I have de same issue. Nextcloud (install via snap on a virtual machine with Ubuntu 18.04.2) is unresponsive on iOS (iPad Pro 11inch with latest iOS version) after 30sec of open App. It I access to Nexcloud via App Files on iOS all is working, not issue.

Please, can you help me?

It's not always 30s, sometimes it can be 5s, sometimes it's longer than 30s. But even if it were a case of the API timing out... That begs the question, why are API calls happening synchronously on the main UI thread???

Yes! I have this issue. On my user, have much more data but I cant send you this user because it´s confidential data. Sorry. Then we still have a problem jejeje. I dont know what happens :(

Hi!! I empty de recycled con Nextcloud Web and appears that now all working fine!! It´s possible?

I emptied my trash bin, and the freezing went away for me too. It’s gotta have something to do with the trash. Sorry I couldn’t provide a test account, I’m not comfortable with doing that.
