Ionic-framework: ion-datetime Keeps sliding even if finger long gone

Created on 22 May 2016  路  15Comments  路  Source: ionic-team/ionic-framework

Short description of the problem:

Im testing the ion-datetime on android 6.0 and it looks like that when I slide my finger and then lift it up
the scroller keep sliding slowly and it makes it hard to aim to the correct inpu

What behavior are you expecting?

Im expecting for the scroller to stop faster.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. take android 6.0.1(might be able to reproduce on other version and os, but thats what I have)
  2. create an ion-datetime
  3. try to scroll, both fast and slow.

Which Ionic Version? 1.x or 2.x
2.0.beta.7

Run ionic info from terminal/cmd prompt: (paste output below)

Cordova CLI: 6.0.0
Gulp version: CLI version 3.9.0
Gulp local: Local version 3.9.1
Ionic Framework Version: 2.0.0-beta.7
Ionic CLI Version: 2.0.0-beta.24
Ionic App Lib Version: 2.0.0-beta.14
OS: Distributor ID: Ubuntu Description: Ubuntu 14.04.4 LTS
Node Version: v5.9.0

Can someone confirm this?

@brandyscarney @jgw96 any news regarding this issue?

Hello, thanks for opening an issue with us! Would you be able to provide a plunker that demonstrates this issue? Thanks for using Ionic!

@jgw96 dont think plunker is relvant here since I was able to reproduce this only on android device (didnt test it on ios). Tell me if you still need a plunker example

Hello @royipressburger, thanks but i was already able to reproduce this issue and will be investigating it more. Thanks for using Ionic!

@jgw96 any news regarding this issue?

I'm having the same problem with Android 6.0.1 and 4.0.2 and with iOS. The ion-date is very slow to select the dates
On browser this doesn't happen, it is fast to scroll down or up on the field.

Same here on Windows 10 universal app (mobile and desktop). Ion-date is verry slow in comparaison to the browser.

Same problems on Ionic 2 beta 11, browser and device.

Same issue here, slow on iOS and Android, both on physical devices and simulators.

Ionic 2 beta 11

I'm using the same version as @arturalkaim and I have the exact same problem, reproducible both on iOS and Android

Performance of Datetime and Picker has been improved a lot, I will keep this issues open since I think this particular performance issue can be improved even more.

For information a simple input type "date" will trigger the native date
selector, work both on android and ios. No more issues with the cordova
plugin or laggy experience with the ion-datepicker ;)

Hello! With the release of RC3 this issue is now fixed. The issue here was that the datepicker was so laggy that it was hard to pick the actual date you wanted. In rc3 we did a ton of perf improvements to the datepicker that solved this issue. Thanks for using Ionic everyone!

Thanks, Can confirm that this issue is fixed in rc3
