Hey everyone,
First I really have to say that I just love the community that developed and grew around InstaPy and social media automation.
As some of you most likely already noticed, I'm not contributing as much new features and fixes as I used to in the "earlier" times. However, this does not mean I'm inactive or absent.
There are simply way more skilled people here that really bring a ton of value to this project and help keep it growing and maintained.
In the meantime, I started writing a really short book about "Automating Social Media Interactions" to both, give beginners a place to start and make sure people who're interested in understanding the concepts and how and why this whole project and others work, can get some introduction to the different techniques.
I'm planning to make the book available later this year. Still thinking about making it completely free adding an option to make some donations (e.g. Gumroad), but since very few people are actually ready to donate some money to the project they use to save a lot of money on other projects I feel like I will just hand out some codes to the core team and maybe a limited number of codes to some more people to really get some feedback and reviews going before distributing it over amazon.
We'll see, first the book, actually, has to be written 馃槈
(Ohh yeah, btw. the idea is to use all of the generated income for InstaPy itself)
Since I feel like there are a lot of incredibly smart people here that could really add some more value to the book and help me develop small introductions to python and selenium as well as javascript and puppeteer, I wanted to ask if someone is interested to start collaborating in the creation and also proof read the parts that are already there (also adjust and extend them).
Who would be interested?
@uluQulu @sionking @CharlesCCC Would love to have some of you guys in for this!
Best,
Tim
Hi @timgrossmann
You deserve a big applause!!!
I would say, with your artistic talent combined with excellent programming knowledge, your documentation making technique encourages me and I think you will also dwell in writing a lite book which will be very helpful to lots of _new_, _experienced_ and _wannabe_ users and also will move this- _the most amazing IG self-promotion tool_ to the next level! :>
I want to acknowledge all the further extra effort for this idea to be implemented and wish I could be of any help and if you guys would like, I can offer some structural design patterns.
_BTW, your commitment to this project is second to none cos decision making is the hardest process which you do most of time_ :)
Keep going plus plus plus xD
Chill
Wonderful idea,
I would more than happy to help-out with this book and provide any insight/skill/value I have on hand. (e.g. python, javascript, web related knowledges.) As necessary we can create a separate slack channel for related book discussion along with some sort of clouddrive(e.g. google drive) for related file sharing. I can help to do that if you guys believe it will be helpful.
Hi Tim,
I first started the journey for Instagram bot when I was looking for my wife's business something that can promote her instead of burning so many hours interacting others over the phone.
So to speak, this starting point of making me helping ppl advance their IG accounts.
None of this could have happen without you, first thinking of the community and contributing your knowledge and time to ppl you never meet.
I think you have a lot to tell, as your story is interesting (beginning as a student project) and effecting so many ppl.
I am sure willing to help and donate money (and some time) for the book journey of yours.
Have a good luck.
@uluQulu @CharlesCCC @sionking
Thank you very much guys, I really appreciate it.
I'll reach out to you soon about this topic.
I'm kind of embarrassed that I forgot to tag one of the most important people this project had over the timespan of great growth @converge !
I unfortunately haven't heard from him in a while, but I'd be more than happy to also have you contribute your knowledge and all of your skills for this.
Thank you very much, again. Without you this project most likely would've never survived the times when there were a lot of problems and huge growth.
@uluQulu @CharlesCCC Could you give me your slack names so I can add you to the group, please?
Sorry @timgrossmann, I am not using Slack.
@uluQulu Well, no worries.
You could also give me your email address so I can share the current draft with you 馃槃
Sure @timgrossmann
It's the one in my profile, [email protected]
.
@timgrossmann my slack name just Charles
(with my kitty as profile photo) email: [email protected]
thank you for the mention @timgrossmann :D
hi @timgrossmann how's the book going ? Is that still in the Agenda ?
@CharlesCCC Well, I'm currently not actively writing on it. I have the basics down, talking about different techniques and tactics as a basic to get into Instagram Growth.
The next part that has to be written is, which of InstaPy's features can be used in what way to exactly do those techniques.
Once that is done, it definitely needs some language and grammatical review.
I want to make sure that people who are reading it understand why some features work better than others and what they had to do without InstaPy to get the same results.
I'm currently working on a Courseware for Packt on contract to at least make a little money.
However this means that I have very limited time. I hope I can finish it this year or latest until February next year.
Sorry for the delay
@timgrossmann No problem at all, Thank you for the quick update. The reason I'm asking is I'm still willing to help out with the book. Maybe you can share some todo list with me with some details, then I sure can help spare sometime to chip in some of my insights. In case you needed, here is my Email: [email protected]
@CharlesCCC Incredible to hear that!
The todo, at the moment, is only in my head 馃槃 but I'll write it down and shoot you an email.
Would be awesome if that also turned into a community build thing 馃憤
This issue has been automatically marked as stale because it has not had recent activity. It will be closed if no further activity occurs. Thank you for your contributions.
If this problem still occurs, please open a new issue
Still in progress 馃槈 (or more like in my schedule)
Will do the remaining writing starting in the new year once I've completed my current task.
Hopefully, by March next year, we can publish the book.
@timgrossmann Sorry I'm been out of the loop recently, I'm currently preparing my GRE exam which will take place on early Feb.2019. I'm planning to add a/couple stories how my account get from 0 to 10k followers within 100 days with the help of InstaPy, including something with the best practice etc. (if others have similar stories, I think it will be a good idea to add as well).
@CharlesCCC That sounds perfect, thank you very much!
I myself can only work on it starting in the new year, again, so no worries.
Stories like that will help show the value of InstaPy.
Looking forward to it!
