Currently different views provide an "Add to dashboard" action. We intentionally removed the "Add" URL from the dashboard-view and should discuss this if this ticket means re-adding that link.

I guess I missread this issue. But now that I got it, any idea how this should look like? I'm against the remove-dashlet-with-a-single-click way of doing this. There used to be dashboard settings long long time ago, then there was some refactoring ticket... Please see the attached screenshot - it's ugly, but it shows most of the functionality. Handling panes need improvement, naming is inconsistent. What I liked was the fact that filters where shown one per line and when you klicked them the dashlet was shown on the right. That way you where allowed to adjust your filters in-place, klick "Add to dashboard" again and override the existing one.

Dashlets on a per user basis can now be configured, but in a different way than the previous configuration dialogs. We have to decide what should happen to the old configuration dialogs and how the new ones may reflect their features.

bump on this, would be extremely useful vs having to devise a method to sync an ini manually across all user directories.

Absolutely, especially in an HA environment where the dashboards not only need to be synced across all user directories, but also across all HA nodes.

So there's a strong +1 from my side.
