Hyper: Installation is freezing on Windows

Hyper.app version: 3.0.2

Issue

Installation freezes, and I have to kill the installer. This is the SquirrelSetup.log file:

It does seem that Hyper is working afterwards, though. I'm not sure if everything is 100% correct yet.
Hyper was NOT added to Add and Remove Programs in Windows.

After rebooting the machine and trying again, it seems to have installed successfully. Now I can't reproduce the bug anymore...

I've run into this issue just now as well. A reboot didn't fix it, I'm going to let it churn a while and see if that helps.

Edit:
Running Hyper once the icon appeared on the desktop during install worked. Once I rebooted, it still functioned. The installer never successfully finished however, so I'm not sure what else is amiss.

The installer never finished. I can even run Hyper while install hanging. Something wrong with the update.exe.

Not sure about the others, but the uninstall option by right-clicking in the Win10 start menu also does not function.

Same issue here.

I now only install Hyper through choco package manager for Windows (https://chocolatey.org) as the executable installer does not work.

Frozen at 50%, deleting hyper folder and squirrel setup folder does not fix the issue.

This has started happening to me after a windows update. I am currently on Windows 10 Version 10.0.18362 Build 18362. I already had hyper installed, but after the update it no longer worked. I (force) uninstalled hyper and tried installing Hyper 3.0.2. The install gets to about halfway, then does not go any further, during this there is an empty command prompt open. When forced closed, the command prompt closes and hyper starts.

However, when hyper starts, it is unusable (empty black screen) and a normal command prompt opens in the background that works just as a normal command prompt, opening to where hyper would have opened it it has loaded properly. I suspect it is something to do with the terminal emulator Hyper uses.
Trying to uninstall does the same thing, opening an empty terminal and not uninstalling.

Hyper 3.0.0 also does the exact same.
I just downgraded to Hyper 2.1.1 and everything works and installs fine now.

I had the same issue, but while looking for a reason / fix for like 15 minutes finally the installer finished properly. I believe some kind of timeout might have happened.
