The cursor color in VTE based terminals adapts to the color of the underlying text. This is useful in vim to be able to actually see the letter under the cursor. Currently the cursorcolor is static in hyperterm.

@rumpelsepp did you try hyperterm-cursor? This will give you inverted text underneath and if you set cursor's colour to match your theme's, that should be it??

That thing aside, it would be nice indeed if theme could smartly interact with existing colouring settings. For example, you set green theme, cursor to purple, then cursor blends to between green and purple (or some other way, ranging from theme overriding to theme being ignored to blend in the middle).

Allowing users to set cursor text color would be another option. hyperterm-cursor is a pretty ugly option with many color schemes.
