When it's loaded, it should check against https://hyperterm-updates.now.sh/api/versions and notify the user if it's the latest version, every time, as soon as it opens.

This is similar to how Chrome does it.

To make this happen we to ditch the macOS-native about window and make our own BrowserWindow ✅

Question is, maybe it's nicer to open a new tab to about:hyperterm than a separate window? Feels more terminal-like

@albinekb that sounds like a great idea! Let's make sure our regexp supports about: uri

@CodeTheory maybe let's adapt the mock for that?

@rauchg @albinekb I'm ready to mock this up. So to be clear, we want a new tab and not a popup?

Something to keep in mind for this. Linux & Windows currently use a different About window than OSX. Their about menu is defined in menu.js under the help menu.

Hopefully with this feature we can use the same about menu everywhere :ok_hand:

Hi guys. I'm quite new to Electron but happy to jump in and help. Has any progress been made on this thread since the last post?
