Hugothemes: Hugo Themes deployment stuck

I am opening this issue to track an issue that currently affects the deployment of Hugo Themes on Netlify.

Since the latest automatic update of the repo https://github.com/gohugoio/hugoThemes/commit/ab9cb6e81cf9e9562b8dbcd0e2708f3c2e2ce35a the Netlify builds are stuck. I have cancelled all deploys except for the latest one.

Also in the deploy logs the Ruby version defaulted to 2.3.6 and that slowed down the build. I have now removed the Pygments requirement in https://github.com/gohugoio/hugoThemes/commit/a28ebff731b5bcc66628a7386d2b92ca1b58e028 and defined the Ruby version to 2.6.2 in https://github.com/gohugoio/hugoThemes/commit/3f773ef49b6bf8e8915b41ed75a3ee05f063d1cf but that didn't make a difference.

Builds are still stuck.

Also note that the Netlify build image currently used is Trusty, because we need the basic version of Hugo for the deployment of Hugo Themes.

I have written to Netlify and I am awaiting their response.

The issue is still unresolved currently Netlify Support are looking into it.

I do not have the time to look into this issue further since my schedule got full until the end of the week, so if anyone else has the time and is willing to contact Netlify the situation is like so:

Since the last automatic update of Hugo Themes deployment gets stuck at the uploading stage.

The cache has been cleared and deploys have been triggered several times with no success.

Also the Netlify build image has been changed back to Xenial just in case Trusty caused the problem.

Netlify Support offered an initial response, acknowledging that they were aware of an issue and that they had applied a workaround.

However the workaround didn't work and I haven't heard back from Netlify Support.

Currently the Hugo Themes Site cannot be deployed.

@fool from Netlify contacted me and asked me to trigger another build.

Also I switched the Build Image back to Trusty as Netlify reverted some changes.

If @fool needs anything more from the Hugo team, I have mentioned that he can contact either of you @digitalcraftsman or @bep since I cannot follow up on this at the moment.
