Are these announcements at all useful? If so, how?

I'm happy to continue doing the ruleset release announcements on GH but it does create a little more overhead for me.

Not really useful for me. I'm like "oh okay, cool" when I see the notification but that's it.

Ruleset release annouence are not very useful for me either.

@Hainish As long Git commit hash is available in some other way, no, these are not very useful on GH. Maybe it would be a good idea for an extension option to show notifications on new ruleset download.
