Hello, i can麓t connect my two "Xiaomi MiJia human body movement sensor (occupancy)"
Error: zigbee2mqtt:error 2018-12-29 17:08:17 Cannot get the Node Descriptor of the Device: 0x00158d0001d5XXX (Error: Timed out after 10000 ms)
What can i do? thx for help
Version:
zigbee2mqtt 1.01
HASS 0.84.6
See https://koenkk.github.io/zigbee2mqtt/getting_started/pairing_devices.html
IMPORTANT: Release and start pressing the reset button every second. This keeps the device awake, otherwise pairing will fail!.
As the issue template suggests, this should first be posted in the zigbee2mqtt issue tracker, not here.
The press and release of reset button every second after a 5 second long push did the trick for me.
I can't tell you how frustrating this was. It was on the supported list and I could find no reason why it would not work. My error sent me to the 'how to support new devices' web page. As a suggestion, perhaps you could point everyone to both pages (the how to pair and the how to support)?
@millerce that鈥檚 a good suggestion, may want to bring it up in the zigbee2mqtt issue tracker
thx it works perfect, nice tiny sensor. thx for your work.

I know this is a very old thread but would you mind stating all your steps?
I run hassio with the zigbee2mqtt bridge addon, have configured it, no errors in the logs, it sees and uses my zigbee stick, it connects to my mqtt server but all my tries to pair the xiaomi mijia human body sensor, pressing > 5secs or pressing once multiple times do not yield in any log entries :-(
I have no other zigbee stick or zigbee device so not sure if I am just missing something here?
@ovizii try opening a new thread if you can't get it to work.
Some things to keep in mind:
Steps to pair:
If you get just 1 blink on release and nothing else, it means something is wrong (so check initial steps above). If you get 1 blink and then 3 short rapid blinks, it should work within a minute.
@ciotlosm thanks for all the good tips. I tried and am still failing so I bought and borrowed a couple of different brands zigbee devices compatible with z2m and am still failing with all of them so now it is time to debug my new slaesh zigbee stick which I am using as a controller.
@ciotlosm SOLVED. I can't believe it has taken me a week and borrowing and buying multiple zigbee devices to figure it out. This was the solution that worked:
Make sure your usb stick (coordinator) has no interference - usually adding an USB extension cord is a good idea
there wasn't really anything close to the stick but plugging it into a 0.7m USB extension cord solved everything.
