Hello,
When I try installing via 'pip install -e.' i get the following exception-
DEPRECATION: Uninstalling a distutils installed project (numpy) has been deprecated and will be removed in a future version. This is due to the fact that uninstalling a distutils project will only partially uninstall the project.

There seems to be an issue with my current version of numpy that I'm running which is preventing the installation. Has anyone got any suggestions?
Cheers,
Matt
You need to run as root (ie, sudo pip install -e . in order to upgrade system packages.
Im running with 'sudo pip install -e' and I'm still getting the os error message -

I assume sudo pip install 'numpy>=1.10' also gives the error?
I think there's some security setting preventing upgrading the system Python. Most people prefer to use the python installed by homebrew, which can be upgraded without affecting MacOS internal operations. Go to http://brew.sh/ and follow the instructions there to get homebrew, then brew install python and try again.
Thats brilliant, its now installing.
Thank you for your help,
Matt
