Why these mobs are broken:
Conflagration and Vampire are totally broken, usually unkillable mobs that have no other solution but try to and despawn them. Using a soul vial to delete them should not be taken as viable solution imho.
Unholy Ghast is similar to that, enforcing another weapon with already limited inventory slots in MC.
Combined with Infernal Mobs this creates broken combinations and they should be disabled altogether.
you can still kill them all with void damage which is aviable with the tinker's rapier in stone age. no patch needed here.
All rapiers I've tried deal the same 0-0,5 hearts of damage, only are spammable faster. I'd like to see your void rapier.

Vampire Pigman have a bug so far ik. It is realy hard to kill him.
Rapier does not do extra damage to vampire pigmen. Not sure about the others, but killing a regular vampire pigman takes 30-40 shots with a rapier, and killing an infernal one is nearly impossible.
As far as the source code is concerned, VampirePigman and UnholyGhast seem to be intended as such.
But Conflagration Blaze doesn't look like that...

I'd prefer keeping them if possible, giving players some kind of warning if they use the wrong tool, and insta-killing them with the proper ones.
Can we blacklist them from the infernal modifiers?
I think the problem is that there are monsters that are not effective in crossbow attacks, even though guided to use crossbows in the quest.
So instead of adding them to blacklist from the Infernal modifiers, I think adding quest that there are monsters that are not effective for crossbow attacks.
Need to add quest info per yukieiji and also look at modifying the mobs a little. Instead of 100% invulnerable give them a % instead. And make the "target" weapons do better so it is worthwhile to carry them around while in the Nether.
Might also be a good place to add in bonus effects from GT arrows. :)
suggestion - cap damage based on percentage of total health differently
If possible, cap melee and ranged damage differently
melee - 5% of max health
ranged damage - 2% of max health
Double these numbers for a critical.
Increase the damage done by their "vulnerable" item too - Minimum of 25% of maxhealth
Blaze - snowballs
Vampire Pigman - Wooden sword
Unholy Ghast - Smite enchanted weapons only

maybe some special message if you kill it with the wrong weapon. "Wow that took a long time is probably something you don't hear much, huh?"
Even increasing damage 10x means a snowball would deal 15 hearts of damage to an infernal blaze with potentionally hundreds of HP. I'd like to see a two shot kill cause you already sacrifice an inventory slot for snowballs that run out. Wooden swords take 8 hits? 16? Not much either for an inventory slot.
Otherwise neat ideas.

I see the wooden sword/snowball etc as kryptonite... The mobs need to die within 1-2 hits. _Regardless_ of the amount of HP. As in: "Good, it's _that_ mob, I can actually deal with it!"
OK, I'm groovy with that. I think more along the lines of 4 hits though. So preferred weapons will do 25% of max health worth of damage. That should mean worst case with a regen mob 5 hits to kill it.
Wand Focus: Ice should definitely work on Conflagration as an effective weapon.

OK, snowballs and Thaumcraft Frost focus now do severe damage to Blazes.
Blazes die with 3 snowballs, or 2 Frost. Conflagration dies with 2 snowballs, or 1 Frost
Not tested with Infernal stats yet..
Could the Holy plank of Sengir work against Vampire Pigmen? With its smite X it should work against Unholy Ghast already (haven't tested that)
Question, did you check to make sure the upgraded versions of the frost focus use the same projectile?
ffs what upgraded versions? As long as they subclass EntityFrostShard they should work.

There are two upgradable paths for the Thaumcraft ice focus. One makes it shoot many smaller pebbles, while the other one shoots one very large one if I recall correctly. They should hopefully be the same type of entity.

Ice ball cannot do as TF is implemented right now, since it is just generic "magic damage" and I cannot determine the source.

Preferred damage sources are super effective against them, killing in 1-2 hits.

Ok, all features requested have been implemented.
Need to update quests to talk about how certain mobs prefer special weapons to kill
IMO the creeper that creates a water filled cobble sphere with silverfish is a huge troll, a huge waste of time cleanning it up and just an annoyance.
I am _unconvinced_ that this was implemented properly.
1) Stakes don't work on VP.
2) Wooden and TC wooden does, but magical, blood infused wood and ironwood does not.
3) UGs are not affected by hammer smite, though they are when you add another level, or do the same to another TC weapon.
4) TC arrow and bolt smite doesn't work, and the GT arrows with smite don't work either. TC shurikens do however, if you want to stay at range.
Conflagration works fine though.
