Godot-proposals: Add illustrative image to godot-proposals readme

Created on 26 May 2020  路  5Comments  路  Source: godotengine/godot-proposals

Describe the project you are working on:
Writing this proposal.

Describe the problem or limitation you are having in your project:
Upon entering this repository link, I am presented with absence of neatness: Just plain black and white text.

Describe the feature / enhancement and how it helps to overcome the problem or limitation:
A big image, maybe a logo, an inside joke, an alpaca or whatnot, right at the top of the repository landing page: the readme file.

Describe how your proposal will work, with code, pseudocode, mockups, and/or diagrams:
There are 4 main ways this feature could be implemented:

  1. A maintainer takes the same image that is displayed on the godot development repository.
  2. A maintainer figures something by themselves, commits the image they made/chose, and closes this issue.
  3. After extensive discussion and design proposals, community members reach a consensus, and a pull request is created. Immediately after that, the pull request is merged.
  4. This feature request is dismissed, the issue is closed.[1]

It's clear from the options above that I don't want options 1 or 4 to happen :(
Thus, the optimal solutions are the options 2 or 3.

If this enhancement will not be used often, can it be worked around with a few lines of script?:
This will be used often.
Even if it would't, the way around it would require a bunch of code:
One would make an uplifting drawing on a post-it and put it next to one's display so as to be looked at every time this repository is accessed, and to be reminded that life is good. But time, motors, batteries, electronics and hardware knowledge etc would be necessary; basically not feasible within the editor.

Is there a reason why this should be core and not an add-on in the asset library?:
It would require a whole lot more work to create and publish an add-on in the asset library that changes the web page content to a desired image, rather than to simply opt for options 2 or 3 mentioned above. Not to mention that as an add-on, this feature won't benefit most feature-requesting users.

A meme would be great.

The only political acceptable way of closing an issue is if it does not follow the template. Once it follows the template, proposals are rarely closed unless it is a duplicate.

Note: typos on the numbers.
