In the recent modules article it suggests that the Athens project is a Microsoft project .

Although there are a few people at Microsoft who contribute to Athens. The project is wholly run and maintained by the community. Furthermore, its maintainers and deciders come from the community. We have all this documented here https://docs.gomods.io

Microsoft employee and Athens core maintainer here. I wholly agree. We started and open sourced Athens with the explicit goal of growing a diverse community of Gophers around it and I believe we鈥檝e succeeded.

The point of that text was to make clear which companies were planning to run the corresponding mirrors (JFrog for GoCenter, Microsoft for Athens), at least as best as we understood. Since it was causing you and @arschles consternation, I took that out and left unspecified who will run the mirrors.
