Go-ipfs: gateway limitations

Created on 14 Apr 2015  路  6Comments  路  Source: ipfs/go-ipfs

We should have some settings so users can configure the gateway to work how they want. What im thinking of is the following:

  • Max file size

    • Users should be able to set limits on how large of files the gateway serves

  • block whitelist

    • specify that the gateway _only_ serve certain blocks

  • block blacklist

    • specify that the gateway _should not_ serve certain blocks

  • max bandwidth

    • specify the maximum bandwidth the gateway should use

i think changing terminology up on people gets confusing, but i guess we can pick something different.

+1 for removing blacklist and whitelist from the lexicon

allow & deny seem to be common and relatively neutral.

Any update on this feature? :)
At the moment I am solving this with NGINX but it would be nice to have it implemented directly into go-ipfs!

As far as I know, nobody's working on this at the moment (we use nginx as a reverse-proxy as well).
