Githawk: "Jump to..." global interaction?

Created on 8 Feb 2018  ·  2Comments  ·  Source: GitHawkApp/GitHawk

After looking at #1500, I wished I could instantly navigate to Moya/Moya#1565 in GitHawk. Search is a little jank right now b/c you can't search issues, but even then, that requires changing tabs (not visible from an issue on iPhone), searching, then tapping the result (if found).

However if you already know your destination, maybe it'd be better to let people textually navigate to stuff?

Imagine something like shaking the app or swiping up from the bottom to show a text field. Once focused on the field, you get an input accessory view w/ / and # shortcuts. You type in moya/moya#1565 and we push that issue VC onto the stack.

You could also just type moya/moya to go to that repo.

Thoughts on this? Would you use it?

This would be super powerful for tablets with a physical keyboard and a keyboard shortcut similar to Slack (Cmd K)/Xcode (Cmd Shift O)/Many apps

I think if it was easy to access then I probably would use it, maybe if we could get a bit of an autocomplete where if you start typing Moya/Mo it would sort of preview ahead of the cursor of the best match where you can press tab or something to use that?

Just trying to think of efficiencies here!

As your simple solution though, can't hurt!

Sounds pretty cool to me 👌

Maybe we can leverage a user's bookmarks here? Like if you have Moya/Moya bookmarked maybe you can get some extra autocomplete benefits 🤔
