Gitea: Feature Proposal: Trending repositories

Created on 13 Jul 2020  路  8Comments  路  Source: go-gitea/gitea

Description

My primary content discovery on GitHub is the Trending repositories (basically: Most starred in the past 24 hours).
It would be great if the Explore tab can implement this. I'm not a Go programmer. It could be done by sorting the data on the search model? That makes it realtime, or it could take a pre-calculated approach.

Basically the same approach as https://github.com/trending

@sexybiggetje I'll also refer back to Codeberg where you started the request: https://codeberg.org/Codeberg/Community/issues/213

Any idea about how the UI like?

The current explore interface is pretty adequate. It could be just a 25 (or configurable amount) of repositories.

Alternatively the star table could just have a CREATED field added to it.
