Subject says it all.
Once created, I can go to my PAT's and change the expiration to either 90/180/365 days. Once created, the PAT has a separate lifetime than an AAD access token. The access token is used to access the REST API but then the PAT is used by Git.
The default is far too short and is annoying.
I've asked the "owners" of the server-side to look into this with me. With luck, we cab resolve it quickly.
Thanks for bringing it to our attention.
Thanks for the report Oren and J - we think we have identified a lingering bug in the service that only affects some GCM users and are working on creating a fix. I will update when confirmed with an ETA.
Hi Oren,
Just to confirm, we've confirmed Chris's suspicions above and have written and tested a fix for the bug. It should be deployed before 5 PM Pacific time tomorrow (3/21). Thanks again for reporting this!
Thanks for digging in to it! I thought I was going nuts with the constant credential prompts :)
Just to confirm, I tested the scenario after the fix was deployed and confirmed that the lifetime issue should be fixed. If you see it still, please let me know!
Will do - what should the default actually be?
1 year should be the default.
