Feature.

  • What is the current behavior?
  1. Building ROMs outputs files with the name "game."

2, Viewing a ROM in an emulator, such as OpenEmu, shows a rainbow thumbnail.

  • If the current behavior is a bug, please provide the steps to reproduce and if possible a minimal demo of the problem

Build a ROM and view it in OpenEmu.

  • What is the expected behavior?

The ROM would have the name of the game and the emulator thumbnail would be the titlescreen of the game.

  • What is the motivation / use case for changing the behavior?

The current behavior will create a lot of games called "game," all with the same thumbnail.

(I changed the name of my ROM files manually.)

Set the ROM filename to match the project name is a good idea.
Unfortunately it won't be possible to set the OpenEmu thumbnail, it's my understanding those images come from a private video game artwork library, though you're able to manually set your own.

@chrismaltby: What if we could specify a Background as the "cover art" for the game and when a ROM was built, it would copy that file as a PNG to the rom directory?

That way, when players download the game, they will get everything needed for the variety of emulators out there.

(Just a thought.)
