Description


On the main menu screen there is an error, see below, this happens regardless of whether pixel shaders are enabled or disabled. However this is after the boot credits and start screen both of which can be skipped by pressing start (they are supposed to do this).

This old video below shows the intro credits, title screen and main menu plus the options menus.

The user re-booted the game many times. Finally, after 2:12, you see a flickering FMV (Before going to the title screen again), before some more re-boot(s). The same FMV is then played for longer and it loads the first prologue text (Before entering gameplay?) and then an animated Chapter 1 load screen.

After that a black screen appears briefly before this external error message popped up:
* Failed on uc_emu_start() with error returned: 6

As of the 0.1 feature freeze, MarcoLoves360's above status is still accurate.

As of the full 0.1 release, MarcoLoves360's above status is still accurate.

Edit: this is the case for both the 0.1 release and latest Development build.

54430003 refers to the original Ninja Gaiden, not the Black version. The Black version code is 5443000d.

This game has suffered a regression recently.

Note: I am on Linux using wine (in-case windows performs differently).

I used to be able to get in game before but now it just hangs at the Microsoft intro screen with an infinity audio loop.

As of build _52cdb4e_ (dated Apr 14 2020) most issues still occur.

The first few seconds of the intro FMV flicker, and loading into the first level is still the same as MarcoLoves360's screenshot.

Audio wise I noticed no crackling or any other artefacts, and menus render correctly.

I could not however get the game to crash at all. While not playable in any capacity, no amount of button mashing or leaving it running would result in a crash.

Running the game with the Speed Hack enabled causes the game to hang after the first splash screen.

Running the game with either skip rdtsc patching or Disable Pixel shaders enabled showed no change in the reported behaviour
