I was under the impression that I had already seen this reported elsewhere, but couldn't find another issue in this repo. Basically, I'd like a way to take a window-only screenshot that doesn't include the padding area around it to contain the semi-transparent drop shadow.
Thanks for the report! What's the use case here?
This is not really possible without doing something dirty like changing the system stylesheet in the fly. In elementary OS apps draw their own shadows
@cassidyjames not a big deal, but I often take screenshots to share somewhere online, and the available horizontal space is not always generous (case in point: github issues). For larger windows, it makes it harder to read the screenshots once the images are resized to fit the available space.
@danrabbit I see, thanks for the clarification. I suppose that kind of solution would be similar to the approach taken in elementary/screenshot#19, right? In that case, if a more general / elegant solution is found for elementary/gala#824, hopefully it could be adapted to this one as well.
