Gadgetbridge: XWatch connects but does not set time, sync, etc.

I have an XWatch which shows up in Gadgetbridge scan and connects, then showing the sync, alarms, activities and find lost device icons. However the date & time are not set from the phone and no activity shows up in Gadgetbridge. I tested calls & SMS, no notifications are received on the watch.

When clicking on sync, a message indicates "fetching activity data" and no error is shown.

Version information:

  • The device is an XWatch Model EX16.
  • No firmware version is visible when going to the three-dotted menu in Gadgetbridge.
  • Android 8.1.0 (LineageOS 15.1)
  • Gadgetbridge 0.28.1

I've attached a log with BT addresses and song names redacted.

Relating to #972 Can anyone share link to device, that works with GadgetBridge?

From your log it looks like your device was recognized as ZeTime instead of XWatch. This was fixed by @joserebelo for 0.29.0, so please try the new version.

Please reopen if you have the problem with 0.29+

@cpfeiffer I tested this with 0.29 and it didn't work. Unfortunately I couldn't extract a log at the moment, I will be able to reset this device and access another one in ~1 week.

Maybe the log only appears to be available when terminating Gadgetbridge or rebooting the phone.

Good news, after resetting the watch I was able to connect to it and time was set automatically. Other features don't work (sync alarms, trigger alarm, call/SMS notifications). I will open separate issues and provide appropriate logs as time permits. I didn't test getting activity data sync'ed, I didn't have enough data.

Update: sync activity worked after 2 days registering steps.
