Fractal: Fractal development still ongoing?

There seems to be little activity in the form of commits on this repo, or am I missing something? This is not criticism, just wondering.

Hey all. I'm afraid that due to some pretty major life changes I'm not currently in a position to work on Fractal at the moment. @dkhuntrods has kindly been jumping in on a few issues and providing critical bug fixes but is also not undertaking any new development work. I'd love to get back to working on it in the future but at the moment I cannot say with any certainty when (or even if) that will happen.

I'm aware that I've not handled this transition well at all and can only offer my sincere apologies for not being clearer about the situation. I'll shortly be updating the README to include a information about the current project status and will also include a call for maintainers in case anyone is interested in taking over the project to keep it moving forwards.

If anyone wants any more information then please get in touch and I'll do my best to get back to you as soon as I can.

development seems stopped months ago..... any news please? A plan ?

Same question from me. Fractal is a great tool. I've pushed the theming to its limit and wondering if I need to start looking at hacking the core myself. I'd rather not.

I'm also curios as me and my colleagues has built a front end framework where Fractal is handling the prototyping/component structure part of it. So it's quite a big part of our front end work flow right now and it works really well and is easy to configure and enhance.

That's sad news @allmarkedup but thanks for answering and clearing things out. 馃憤

@allmarkedup Thank you for the update. Best of luck in your life changes!

@allmarkedup that's sad to hear but good to know what the situation is. Thanks for clearing that out! Luckily Fractal is super stable and reliable so I'll keep using and fork the v1 and maybe add my own changes to it - since I won't need to worry to break the upstream anymore :D

Best of luck to you!

Damn, this is a shame. It would be good to get a bug fixes and PRs in sooner rather than later, so people (like me) don't have to maintain our own forks

@allmarkedup Best wishes and sad to hear that Fractal won't make big progress in the next time.

Fractal was a huge inspiration for us and changed how we work at @comwrap. We took the best parts and developed a similar tool. It's called Malvid and could be interesting for those looking for an alternative.

Hope to see Fractal back in the game soon.

Hope all is well @allmarkedup 鉂わ笍

Hey all - I've just posted up a bit of an update on plans for the future development of Fractal in a separate issue (#449). In short, it happily looks like Danielle (@dkhuntrods) should soon have a bit more time to dedicate to the project and we are hoping to get development kick-started again with the help of some additional contributors. Full details in the other issue but hopefully this comes as a bit of good news for you all!

@paulmsmith thanks mate, yes all good! Just a few (self-inflicted!) changes in circumstance that mean I unfortunately don't really have the ability to maintain any side projects at the moment.

@electerious Malvid looks excellent! Not checked it out in detail yet but first impressions are great.

Just going through some issues and think this one can be closed in favour of #449 that outlines the next steps being taken :)
