I use the map marker icon.

The map marker does any okay representation but ideally the marker would be more like the one shown above.

It's been over 3 years since this was last discussed. Can this request be revisited?

A few things to keep in mind, Google Places is now called Google My Business and the official icon has been modified.

Please make this icon, Google+ is no longer a thing and we're updating website links to point to GMB pages.

I second this request. Since Google+ is no longer active, we are steering our clients to create a Google My Business accounts. Thanks!
