I would love the famous P which (in Europe) stands for a car park. I'm using font-awesome to point out positions on a map, and while I could use a car icon, the P is just so much more obvious.

+1000!
Please consider adding this icon, it's unavoidable to signal car park here in France, and in many other countries i guess.
The design is quite simple: see attached.
Thanks!
@tagliala How many more +1 is it required for FortAwesome to realise it about time to get this out there this has been going on since 2013 it's ridiculous!
They seem to think these requests are just a joke:
'Found Nothing We Have
Sorry, we couldn't find any icons related to "parking".'
Apparently we can have Spock and Lizard hand signs from the Big Bang game, but nothing of practical use to people.
Does anyone from Font Awesome actually acknowledge or appreciate the very real need we are all expressing?
Hey all,
I'm new to the Font Awesome team, and I can assure you that we don't think these requests are a joke. We discuss regularly how to improve the way we prioritize the creation of new icons (a whole bunch of them are being cranked out...) and specifically how best to leverage all the +1 voting going on here on these GitHub issues—which we find really valuable. I regularly redirect people here to make those request to make sure we don't lose track of them! So while I don't know why it's been three years on this particular one, I do know that we value this feedback and we intend to rely on it increasingly as part of our icon creation process.
So thank you sincerely for the continued feedback.

Man I’ve been through a lot of projects since I’ve +1 this. That app could have seriously used this icon but alas that was years ago now. Interesting to come back every now and then and see it’s still not in. Become a bit of a joke now.
Hi Mike,
Thank you for your prompt reply.
I really do appreciate the work you all do and sincerely value your products.
However, it does baffle me, and I would love to know the logic behind, the decision that prioritised the Rock Paper Scissors Lizard Spock icons over the ones we need for everyday use, such as parking.
It might be a great TV programme but if we invest our time, money and efforts into building your icons into our websites, I think it would really help to give us the ones our clients ask for.
@peterppm I don't know the answer as to the logic behind that particular decision, being both a new guy, and a developer—not an icon designer. But I do know we'll be able to make more optimal decisions in the future as we improve our process of automating the reporting of all the +1 feedback we're getting here. And _that's_ something that's high on our priorities list.
In the meantime, did you know that in Font Awesome 5, in the SVG with JS method, you _can_ add your own custom SVG icons? I worked up a little demo of that here:
https://github.com/mlwilkerson/fa-custom-icon-demo
I know that making one's own custom SVG icons is not going to be a solution for everyone, but if you're in a bind, maybe. And in this case, given the simplicity of the requested icon, it just might be a reasonable alternative.
@peterppm A few more updates after chatting with my team. This particular icon is scheduled to come out with our version 5.1. That's an update that we've been working on feverishly in recent weeks and we're getting really close—driven largely by community feedback.
Also, part of Font Awesome's response to the growing pains has been to add more team members. So, me, for one, though I don't make icons. We also added Jory (@sensibleworld) to the team recently, and he's been cranking out the icons in a major way. I hear that we've added over 500 new icons in the last couple of months, including this one—yet to be released. I know that Jory has had his eye on most-requested icons like this one as he's been doing all of that work. As we add more automated reporting, it will help icon designers like him to be more focused on the icon-making.
We really do need the continued community engagement and up-voting like this for the whole thing to work well and to make the icons the community wants. We're committed to improving this process. We know that we've got some work to do here to make it actually Awesome.
Thanks Mike,
I shall take a look but it might be beyond me - that's why I am a big fan of Font Awesome.
No worries, I am not in a bind, and I look forward to your new icons.
Best wishes,
Peter

I just searched through the 1000+ icons of FA and found out there's no "Parking" icon. Then I realized it has been requested multiple times since 2013. ?!? Implementing it would probably take 50% of the time it took @mlwilkerson to write all these answers.
Thanks for the feedback, @paddelboot. The parking icon has already been designed and will be included in our upcoming 5.1 release.
just use this: https://fontawesome.com/icons/product-hunt?style=brands
No need to circle the block any longer, we found your spot: https://fontawesome.com/icons/parking?style=solid
