Hi,
It would be great to see a Gallery type icon. I would imagine it would be similar to icon-picture, but instead of the one "picture", it would be multiple, stacked. Similar to the quick mockup I've attached below.
I do a lot of WordPress development and WordPress has various Post Formats. Among them are an Image Post Format and a Gallery Post Format. The icon-picture is perfect for the Image Post Format and I would love to see a new icon-gallery that I could use for the Gallery Post Format.
Cheers! And thanks for the great work you've done on these so far. :-)
I second this request! A "gallery" or "pictures" icon would be a great addition to the "picture" icon with font awesome.
This type of icon would be great. Would greatly round out the media type icons already available.
Where does FA stand on this icon?
+1000 This is the only thing keeping me from using Font Awesome in my upcoming WordPress theme. It would be so sweet if this were added!

+1 This would be great. I've written a photo management system for my studio and use FA extensively and this would be perfect in a number of places!
After 2.5 years it's probably safe to assume this will never be included.
@valendesigns Never say Never :D

+1. I could use this.
+1. very useful one. Requires in anywhere I put a gallery. Write now I have to use picture-o icon, which does not denote a gallery, rather single picture.

+1 to this too. I don't think fa-image
and fa-photo
denote a gallery.
Thanks.
+1, but I doubt it'll be incorporated if it hasn't been already.

I doubt that this will be created. I used stacks to create this icon:
As I proof of concept I created it with 3 stacks, but it can be reduced to 2 if you want. If there were a rectangular icon shape this could be easier. Even easier and no need to block the transparency if there where a half border line to simulate the 3D stack effect.
At minimum some basic shapes icons should be added to easy create stacks like this. It will be like playing legos.
Check my jsfiddler to see how it is done:

I've quit using Font Awesome specifically because of no gallery icon. The closest thing I could find was the copy icon or just doubling up the image icon...

@To-mos I use FA for web applications and I was on the same dilemma as yours, until I figured how effectively use font stacks. Now I am able to create my own compositions that I now use on my application. Previously, on this thread, I gave a suggestion of how this can be done for the gallery icon. Additional, as proof, here is a sample how I using stacks on a web application already in production.
Of course it needs the CSS extension that I also suggested.
@cherrador Unfortunately stacks don't allow the icons behind to be transparent without masking off the foreground one and I didn't really need/want an extra extension so I just made 2 svg icons for people to use in a gist.
Hope they help :)

@To-mos You are right about this. Some compositions could be challenging without using masking. We also when we cannot find a reliable icon or stack, we use SVG. Which normally I try to avoid because they live on a separate file that needs to be loaded and also about the limitation that cannot be colored or modified with CSS when they are loaded as src. Normally, I have javascript that finds and converts all the loaded SVG into <svg>
tags after finishing loading which then I can style without problem.
Also, as I suggested before, some basic geometrical icon shapes could be very useful to complete some of the stacks without reliance on masks.
Just an fyi... For those of you that have backed the new Font Awesome 5 project, I've added this request over on that project as well so when you get access to that repo, you might want to 馃憤馃徏 the request. Fingers crossed it gets created for FA5 since it's not looking likely for FA4.
I've started a campaign, giving away the top requests for FA icons for free, open source. You can incorporate them in a number of ways: generating another icon font, svg set, or (my preference) compiling all FA and third party icons into a single file.
Previous ones were moderator, discord, coins, Google Play, thin close, walking man, t-shirt, Xbox, Nintendo Wii U, Nintendo, PlayStation, Facebook messenger, Line, clean and math icons.
Please let me know if you want me keep going these icon requests, or compile some upgrade file.
