Floccus: Saving settings is inconsistent

Created on 10 Jun 2020  路  8Comments  路  Source: floccusaddon/floccus

I've been having a few issues since the latest update (4.2.1), so I decided to do a fresh install of the extension on both my mobile and desktop browser. I also deleted all bookmarks off the servers I use. However, while I can create a new account, I noticed it does not save my settings in a consistent manner. For instance, if I set the Nextcloud URL, Username, and Password, and then click the save button, none of those settings will be saved. All of them will revert to their defaults after saving and closing the page. I did notice that if I only change the Nextcloud URL, it will save. Then changing my username and password work... though I noticed that workaround does not consistently work either. I noticed this issue occuring on both Kiwi Browser and Chromium.

Seeing the same issue on Firefox on Linux and Chrome on Windows. Very frustrating.

1) Seeing the same inconsistent behaviour saving user login details on both FireFox and Chrome. I am using xbel on a Webdav server. Not NextCloud.
2) I sync FF bookmarks to a different name than the Chrome bookmarks, so FF syncs with FF across devices and Chrome with Chrome across devices. Firefox syncing works fine (once I've got past the user details issues), but Chrome is just hanging. The first time it syncs, it works a charm, then from there if you make a change or two to the bookmarks in Chrome, it basically hangs whilst it syncs "forever". Currently 2 hours and "still syncing". What it is "syncing about" I have no idea. :P
3) Is it possible to do any debugging to help troubleshoot?
4) Running Firefox on 3 Windows machines. Running Chrome on the same 3 Windows machines.

@nunnsby This is probably related to #482

Issues with editing account settings should be resolved now, in v4.2.2

I updated to v4.2.2 and attempted to readd an account. I'm still having the same issue.

@Tank-Missile v4.2.3 attempts to mitigate this.

@marcelklehr Gave v4.2.3 a whirl, but the same issue is still occuring.

@marcelklehr v4.2.4 appears to fix the issue. Thanks for the all the hard work!
