Flask: About flask docs translations

Hello @kennethreitz , We've created 'flask-docs-kr' project in readthedocs.org.
(http://flask-docs-kr.readthedocs.org/ko/latest/)
We hope to enable 'flask.readthedocs.org/ko/latest' URL.

Please add our flask-docs-kr project to official flask readthedocs.org project.
('Admin -> Translations -> Existing Translations')

I'm not really happy about making this official. While I appreciate the effort and it's always great to see people excited to spend efforts on the project, especially on things that make it more approachable to new people, promoting this translation to something "official" implies that the documentation is developed with the same standards and by the same people as everything else.

This is however not the case. Afaik none of the people with commit access know korean, so we can't review it, we can't keep it up to date with the original etc. nor do we have any other regular contributors who do. This is however the standard I would like to see for an official translation and I think others probably have the same expectation or it would at least be reasonable for them to have it.

It is hard to review translated document for Korean. (another languages are too.)
Even though it is translated perfectly, it may be outdated document.
However it will be worth discussing for people who using other languages.

There are several different translated documents for Chinese.

the newest version is one year ago.
Most people translate a certain version of Flask.
Is there any useful tools the compare the translations between
original/tranlation and update translations easily?

Who would be maintaining the translated docs? I think providing links to unofficial translations might be helpful, but making them 'official' just creates more work.

I think all the maintainers are in agreement that it's awesome folks are translating the docs, but we can't commit to keeping them maintained, so we can't imply they're "official".

Have you seen what the Requests projects does? Effectively:

• someone forks the repo, translates the docs
• the translated docs are uploaded to readthedocs
• a link is added to the sidebar of the requests documentation

It's pretty obvious that they are unofficial translations, by URL alone, and the quality of content. But people find them extremely helpful in their respective communities. It is purely up to the person who created the translation to maintain it. They generally do not. That is fine.

I want to ask similar question about Russian translation. OK, you can't check translation because you don't have any russian developers, so you can't make it as official translation.
But then, what i (and other translators) can do? Can you give a link to that translation, and say, that this is unofficial? Can i search for russian developers on some other sites and ask them to check translation? What if i translate docs commit-by-commit, so you will always see, is it new or outdated? So, if i want to translate it "right-way", how can i do it?

If you are still interested, you'll need to build the docs with the correct language tag and give us access on rtd to add it as a translation. It looks like this may be very out of date though.

If anyone wants to figure out the Sphinx built-in way to manage translations, we might be able to consolidate the translations in a pallets repo, but that is not something I have time to figure out.

@liks79 Is the korean version of flask documentation still maintained? I am interested in contributing to it in terms of both contents and scripting(for building docs, etc.).
