Hello 馃憢
Nodejs.org is currently working on a website redesign over at https://github.com/nodejs/nodejs.dev (also https://nodejs.dev) and we were seeking to gain permission to use the Express logo in the new site.
See issue referenced at: https://github.com/nodejs/nodejs.dev/issues/818
Thanks for your time 馃槃
That's awesome to hear! I believe our IP is actually held directly by the OpenJS foundation. I will try to figure out the answer for you.
Were there forms ever filed to transfer it to the node org from IBM? If so, then the merger probably covered that. @dougwilson if you are not in the slack channel for OpenJS and want me to ask in there it might get a quick response.
"forms" or whatever needs to be done I should say, IANAL so maybe it is just a handshake?
I should have looked closer, thank you for opening this issue @ahtee. Wondering if there's anything I can do to help or bump the process along?
Hey @jemjam! I'm not sure. I haven't heard anything back from the maintainers here or OpenJS Foundation on permission and just kept the discussion in this issue; I haven't reached out to the org via Slack either
Some additional context: the maintainers (like myself) have no issue with you using the logo. I guess it really comes down to if you just want to hear that, or if you actually want/need permission from the _rights holders_ of the logo instead of just the folks who work on the project (as they are not the same set of people in this case).
Looks like that is what is needed at this time. Are we good with this approval @jemjam @benhalverson ? If so this issue could probably be closed and we will reference this issue.
Yup, I think that's the main bit. Appreciate all the follow up, thanks.
